About Us

Our Story

I was raised by a chorus of Southern women—gritty, graceful, and endlessly capable. Women like my grandmothers, Venice and Trudy, and my Aunt Mary, who could whip up a Sunday supper, patch a broken heart, or fix a fence post without breaking a sweat. These ladies weren’t just my family—they were my foundation.

Southern Lady Scents was born from front porch wisdom, kitchen-table honesty, and the slow-burning resilience of the women who raised a Southern boy like me—gay, tender-hearted, and learning every day what strength really looks like.

Each candle tells a story—of lace curtains swaying in the summer breeze, of sweet tea and sass, of perfume and pine, of hard-earned gentleness passed down like a family recipe. Our scents are inspired by the memories these women made: the way Venice’s garden smelled at dusk, the clean comfort of Trudy’s laundry on the line, the wild jasmine that grew along Aunt Mary’s back fence.

These women could do anything—and they did. This brand honors that legacy. Southern Lady Scents isn’t just about fragrance. It’s about fire. The kind that warms a home, lights a path, and burns on long after the wick is gone.
